Medical and Prescription Drug

She covers her husband, Carl, and their two kids, Molly and Michael. Cancer runs in Chloe’s family and she wants to learn more about the cancer support programs Hasbro offers.

Chloe’s initial steps are to:

  1. Take advantage of Hasbro’s cancer detection programs offered by Color and Galleri. Color is confidential and available to employees and their spouses/domestic partners aged 18+, if enrolled in a Hasbro medical plan. This free service helps better detect cancer early. Chloe can visit the website or call 844-352-6567. Galleri offers a blood test that looks for a signal shared by 50+ types of cancer identifying cancers that don’t yet have screenings. If a cancer signal is detected, the Galleri team will help Chloe find the right diagnosis and support her through and beyond her testing journey. She can visit the website or call 833-694-2553.
  2. If the tests detect the possibility of cancer, Chloe can reach out to Aetna Concierge Services for information on her next steps, including identifying an in-network specialist and how to access 2nd.MD, a second opinion service offered through Aetna.
  3. If it’s determined that Chloe must seek treatment for a cancer diagnosis, Aetna’s Transform Oncology Program can help her access a Personal Navigator with experience in cancer diagnosis and treatments. Chloe can access her Personal Navigator through a “Request a call” button located on the Aetna Cancer Support Center on the Aetna member website.

LGBTQIA+

Tam has felt alone most of their life, like they’ve been between two worlds. After talking with some friends and a lot of soul-searching, Tam has made the decision to explore transitioning from their birth gender, male, to female. There are so many insurance benefits to review and understand that Tam feels overwhelmed and isn’t sure where to begin.

Tam’s initial steps are to:

  1. Call Cathleen de Cook, RN, CCM at 959-230-2616 to learn what Aetna offers and put together a game plan.
  2. Cathleen can assist in finding participating providers to consider when scheduling consultations.
  3. Tam can then research providers AND schedule consultations with those providers of interest. Tam can schedule more than one consultation to make an informed decision.
  4. Review transition plans, anticipated medical and/or surgical procedures with Cathleen to discuss what’s needed from a precertification perspective, e.g., letters from a mental health provider.
  5. Confirm which services are covered. If a participating provider is elected, Tam will be responsible for their calendar year deductible and out of pocket for the year. If the provider is out of network, Tam can request the approximate reimbursement anticipated upon a claim submission. This allows Tam to make informed decisions on next steps.

Tam may also want to explore:

  • Fertility benefits, if interested in family formation or fertility preservation prior to transition, or prior to the start of hormones.
  • Hasbro’s mental health benefits, including up to 8 free therapy sessions through Modern Health and continued support through Aetna.
  • Hasbro’s leave policy on the HR Americas page on the Hasbro intranet in case Tam needs to take leave to recover after surgery.
